Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking an experienced RN for its 5400 Oncology Unit. You will provide direct nursing care to cancer patients, assess and update care plans, and collaborate with families to promote patient-centered outcomes.

The role involves night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM), weekend rotation, and holidays, with opportunities to earn chemotherapy certification and advance within the unit and organization.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for a given patient population.
• Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in care and serve as a patient advocate.
• Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medication, and document.
• Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes, contribute to care improvement.
• Delegate tasks, serve as a resource person, pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications, maintain applicable certification/licensure.
