Wood County is seeking a qualified nurse to evaluate and treat individuals in crisis and with severe mental illness. This role works under the Head Nurse and Director of Nursing, coordinating with physicians and behavioral health staff to implement orders and monitor patient status.

The position involves supervising psychiatric technicians, performing nursing processes, and ensuring timely care delivery in acute and long-term care settings. Competitive benefits accompany FT employment.

*Nurse to client ratio is 1:12 with two CNA’s on LTC. 1:6 on hospital with two CNA’s or 1:12 with three CNA’s. All staff trained in Vistelar de-escalation techniques and additional specific behavioral health trainings.

GENERAL FUNCTION

The purpose of this position is to evaluate and treat individuals in crisis and individuals with severe mental illness. Other duties include obtaining and implementing physician work orders and notifying appropriate parties of changes of condition. The work is performed under the supervision of the Head Nurse and Director of Nursing.
