Job summary

Venesco, LLC is seeking an experienced Information System Security Manager (ISSM) to lead cybersecurity oversight for assigned systems, programs, or enclaves. This role directs RMF execution, supports authorization activities, and ensures systems remain secure, compliant, and operationally ready.

Based in Maryland, the ISSM will mentor ISSOs, coordinate with Authorizing Officials and system owners, and enforce security policy, training, and continuous monitoring to sustain authoritative posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of cybersecurity or information assurance experience.
• Active Secret clearance or higher preferred.
• Strong knowledge of NIST RMF, SP 800-53, and ATO lifecycle.
• Experience leading security governance and risk management across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead RMF execution across assigned systems and ensure documentation is audit-ready.
• Coach ISSOs and security staff to enhance performance and compliance.
• Oversee vulnerability management, risk assessments, POA&M tracking, and remediation prioritization.
• Coordinate with Authorizing Officials, system owners, CISO staff, engineers, and program leadership to communicate system risk posture.
