Scope

The RMC Sales Representative is responsible for generating profitable revenue growth within the assigned market area by developing customer relationships and securing new and repeat business. The Sales Representative manages selling price and commercial terms and pursues the right mix of customers, projects, and products. The Sales Representative applies an understanding of product costs, delivery economics, and available operating capacity to achieve the best combination of volume, contribution, and long-term market position.

Essential Functions
  • Develops, establishes, and maintains business relationships with prospective and current customers, generating profitable new and repeat business within the assigned market area.
  • Researches and identifies prospective customer opportunities, diligently pursues via telephone, email, networking events, and/or office cold calls, and determines the prospect’s potential.
  • Develops clear and effective proposals and quotations that reflect established pricing strategies, product costs, delivery requirements, commercial terms, and the value provided to the customer.
  • Clearly develops and documents account plans/prospecting plans for target accounts/prospects and reviews progress with Regional Manager on a regular basis.
  • Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints, working as the liaison for the customer with all departments within NESL.
  • Coordinates sales efforts with sales management, dispatch and operations, accounting, and quality control.
  • Analyzes the market area and the value of existing and prospective opportunities based on expected volume, selling price, cost to serve, contribution, capacity requirements, and long-term market position.
  • Maintains an accurate sales pipeline and provides timely volume, pricing, customer-mix, and project information to support annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and operating plans.
  • Manages the customer, project, and product mix in coordination with operations, and dispatch to improve gross margin and EBITDA per yard and profitably utilize available plant, fleet, and internal aggregates.
  • Keeps abreast of product applications, QC requirements, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature, training, networking events, etc.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Two (2) years of sales experience preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of concrete quality and mix designs preferred.
  • High aptitude for problem-solving.
  • Proven ability to determine solutions for customers (consultative sales approach).
  • Must be results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Must be willing and able to travel regularly throughout the assigned market area.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and contact management software.
  • Valid driver’s license and compliant with NESL’s driving standards.
