Job summary

Lambda Inc. in San Jose, CA is seeking a Workstation and Server Repair Technician to troubleshoot and repair products, perform functional tests, and provide on-site support. You will track tickets, ensure quality conformity, and follow SOPs to maintain Lambda’s high service standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum track record in computer manufacturing or similar role.
  • Server hardware integration experience.
  • Ability to perform mechanical and electrical assembly including cabling.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair Lambda products.
  • Perform functional tests on Workstations and Server hardware.
  • Track and update support tickets in real time.
  • Report defective parts to RMAs/Repair Database.
  • Ensure products conform to current manufacturing quality standards.
  • Follow work instructions for testing and repair processes.
  • Provide on-site customer support as needed.
  • Perform other manufacturing floor tasks as assigned.

About the Role

We have an immediate need for a Workstation and Server Repair Technician with solid knowledge of servers and troubleshooting. In this role, you will have the opportunity to build. Plan and lay out work to meet production and schedule requirements Provide production, progress, or changeover reports to supervisors Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures. The role is extremely important to maintain Lambda’s commitment to excellent customer service and maintain its high approval rating. We are looking for passionate, dedicated technicians who love what they do and can provide excellent testing support.

What You’ll Do
  • Troubleshoot and repair Lambda products
  • Perform functional test on Workstations and Server hardware
  • Track all support tickets and update the tickets real time
  • Report any defective parts to RMA/Repair Database
  • Ensure all products conform to current MFG Quality Standards
  • Follow all applicable work instructions to perform testing and repair processes.
  • Onsite customer support service as needed
  • Any other manufacturing floor tasks that may be assigned
You
  • Have an excellent track record working in computer manufacturing or similar role
  • Have server manufacturing experience (hardware integration i.e. CPU and other hardware components)
  • Are capable of performing mechanical and electrical assembly including cable routing and wiring
  • Are capable of standing for long periods of time
  • Are adaptable and flexible to changes as neededCan work cross-functionally with other groups
  • Can maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Are organized and detail-oriented
  • Are a team player and a reliable colleague with dependable work ethic
  • Have great verbal and written communication skills
Nice to Have
  • 2+ years experience in related field or completed/enrolled in certificate or degree programs such as Computer Electronics and Networking Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology
  • Excel at troubleshooting computer and electro-mechanical systems including use of testing equipment and tools
  • Computer skills and networking / IT knowledge, Linux and command line interface knowledge desirable
  • Ability to read and interpret diagrams
  • Familiarity with manufacturing quality systems
Salary Range Information

This is an hourly role, eligible for overtime. The hourly rate for this position has been set based on market data and other factors. However, an hourly rate higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
