Jump Trading Group in Chicago, IL is seeking a Research Scientist/Research Engineer to advance reinforcement learning for live trading. You will design and evaluate policy architectures, reward formulations, and horizons while ensuring out-of-sample performance and integration with alpha signals across teams.

You will build scalable tooling for handling massive market data, model market microstructure, and contribute to translating research into production.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing reinforcement learning and/or deep learning systems with measurable impact
• Proven ability to take RL methods from research to production and deploy at scale

Responsibilities

• Design and evaluate policy architectures, reward formulations, and horizons for RL in markets
• Partner with trading and research teams to integrate alpha signals into RL framework
• Model market microstructure, fill dynamics, liquidity, and latency in simulations
• Build scalable tooling to store, process, and analyze large volumes of market data
