Job summary

PENN Interactive is hiring for a Risk Trader to manage live betting markets and adjust odds in real time across major sports. The role requires strong math, data-driven decision making, and the ability to work on evenings, weekends, and holidays.

You will monitor exposure, respond to market moves, and help optimize live trading processes. Ideal candidates have a degree in a quantitative field, 1–2 years in trading or risk roles, and a passion for sports betting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

About The Role & Team

The Risk and Trading Team is responsible for all Sports Betting products, prices, risk management, Boosts, Specials, Promotions and Player Props in a fast‑paced, 24/7 North American facing operator. You will be part of the team looking after the above duties as the global Sports calendar requires. We are currently looking for highly motivated and suitably qualified team players. This role requires a highly professional, organized, and enthusiastic individual who is data driven, is obsessed by sports and sports betting and willing to push the boundaries to continuously improve the product.

This role is not for narrow risk management, this role is for taking risk management on the full 360 of the Sportsbook product, performance, promotion, presentation, and pricing. If you want to put the fan and the fan experience at the centre of the Sportsbook read on.

About The Work

• Manage live betting markets in real time across assigned sports/events
• Adjust odds proactively based on: Game state (score, time, momentum),Injuries, cards, or key events and Market movement and betting activity
• Execute liability‑aware decisions including: Price moves, Market suspension and Stake/limit considerations
• Ensure pricing is competitive vs key operators (e.g., Bet365, Pinnacle)
• Operate within event templates and market tiers, adjusting when required
• Monitor and react to sharp or arbitrage activity
• Use internal tools to track exposure and performance
• Contribute to live trading improvements and process optimization

About You

• Post‑secondary degree in a relevant field, such as mathematics, business or other fields within analytical disciplines
• Must be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays
• 1 to 2 years’ experience in a trading environment or assessing and calculating risk within the areas of insurance or finance advantageous
• Good all round sports betting knowledge and a strong interest in betting and odds required
• Data obsessed, not just data driven. Excellent mathematical skills
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability
• Flexibility is a must as working hours will be dictated by business needs. Must be able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and public holidays
• Able to multitask and work under pressure
• Ability to work in fast paced environment and make decisions quickly
• Must have exceptional time management skills
• High attention to detail and precision in delivery
• Ability to learn quickly, work independently and in a team setting
• Strong initiative and outstanding work ethic

Salary Range

$50,000—$55,000 USD
