Job summary

River City Rehab seeks a Risk Manager to identify and mitigate risks affecting resident care, finances, and facility reputation. You will develop policies, improve documentation, monitor risk processes, and lead data-driven audits to reduce exposure.

The role requires knowledge of risk management concepts, strong organizational and analytical skills, familiarity with laws governing health facilities, and excellent communication with staff and residents. RN/LPN background preferred.

  • Assure resident safety through strict adherence to protocols, policies, and procedures, open communication with residents, supervisors, and coworkers, and careful observation of residents, equipment, and environmental conditions.

Position Purpose

The Risk Manager identifies and prevents/mitigates potential issues that could compromise resident care, result in financial loss, or damage the reputation of the facility.

Essential Job Functions – Principal Accountabilities
  • Detect and manage risk exposure
  • Maintain and update facility policies to reduce or mitigate risk.
  • Improve documentation practices.
  • Seek ways to reduce the legal exposure of the facility.
  • Monitor risk management processes.
  • Create and maintain risk audit databases.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements

Education: AS degree in nursing, or equivalent, is required. BS degree in nursing is desirable.

Experience: Experience performing the essential functions of the position is desirable.

Certification/License: Florida Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing is required. Candidates are required to attain and maintain CPR certification within 90 days after hire. State background check standards must be maintained as a condition of continued employment in accordance with Florida Statutes Chapters 435 and 408.809 and Florida Administrative Code 59A-35.090.
