Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced Compliance professional to partner with CBB Digital and 2LOD teams. You will oversee regulatory compliance, evaluate risks, and provide credible challenge across digital products and customer journeys.

Ideal candidates bring extensive regulatory knowledge, strong analytical and project management skills, and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders while maintaining independence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Typically more than eight years of applicable experience.
  • Regulatory knowledge of laws, regulations impacting Digital and Banking.
  • Knowledge of consumer protection and compliance risks in digital banking.
  • Understanding of CBB Digital operations, products/services, systems, processes and risks.
  • Thorough knowledge of risk management framework (Three Lines of Defense).
  • Ability to provide independent oversight and credible challenge.
  • Experience evaluating compliance risks with new products and digital capabilities.
  • Strong analytical, risk assessment, process facilitation, and project management skills.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building.
  • Proficient in MS Office; applicable professional certifications.

Job Description Partners with assigned Consumer and Business Banking (CBB) Digital business partners, First Line of Defense Risk/Compliance professionals, other Risk/Compliance/Audit professionals, and RCA Managers to provide independent compliance risk oversight and credible challenge. Supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of an effective compliance risk management framework and participates in projects and activities designed to promote compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Provides Second Line of Defense (2LOD) oversight of Digital products, services, capabilities, processes, and customer experiences. Evaluates compliance risks and the effectiveness of First Line risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation activities. Identifies potential gaps in processes, systems, controls, or risk management practices; provides effective challenge and informs appropriate solutions. Identifies, responds to, and/or escalates compliance risks and issues as appropriate. Serves as a functional liaison between CBB Digital, First Line Risk Management, Corporate Compliance, and other Lines of Defense. This role is specifically aligned to CBB Digital and will work closely with the First Line of Defense Digital Compliance and Risk professional responsible for supporting Digital. The role provides independent compliance oversight and credible challenge related to Digital initiatives, products, platforms, customer journeys, marketing and communications, and changes to existing products and services. Responsibilities may include oversight and challenge of compliance risk assessments, change and initiative reviews, issue management, control assessments, regulatory change implementation, and other risk-management activities applicable to Digital. The expected regulatory expertise should include laws and regulations applicable to Digital banking products, services, communications, and customer experiences, including, as applicable, UDAAP/UDAP, Regulation E, E-SIGN, FCRA, ECOA/Regulation B, CAN-SPAM, TCPA, and other consumer protection requirements applicable to CBB Digital products and services.

Basic Qualifications

  • Considerable knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends impacting Digital and Consumer and Business Banking
  • Considerable knowledge of consumer protection and compliance risks associated with digital banking products, services, platforms, customer journeys, marketing, communications, and emerging capabilities
  • Considerable understanding of CBB Digital operations, products/services, systems, processes, and associated risks and controls
  • Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies and the Three Lines of Defense risk management framework
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective independent oversight and credible challenge of First Line risk-management activities
  • Experience evaluating compliance risks associated with new products, product changes, digital capabilities, customer experiences and business initiatives
  • Strong analytical, risk assessment, process facilitation, and project management skills
  • Ability to identify emerging compliance risks, evaluate the adequacy of mitigating controls, and appropriately escalates significant concerns
  • EffectivePresentation, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Effective relationship-building, influencing and negotiation skills, including the ability to maintain constructive partnerships while preserving 2LOD independence
  • Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $111,605.00 - $131,300.00 U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
