Job summary

Le’fant seeks a Risk Management Technician to support Assessment & Authorization for a federal customer. You will track A&A efforts within VA to enable Authorization to Operate for information systems and networks.

You will plan and coordinate assessments to identify vulnerabilities and security requirements in line with VA processes. Responsibilities include weekly status updates and support for eMASS packages, with extended core hours on a rotating schedule (Mon-Sat 6:00 AM–10:00 PM ET and Sun

Le'fant is seeking a Risk Management Technician to track efforts related to Assessment & Authorization (A&A) for a federal customer where you will:

• Track efforts related to A&A within VA to ensure assigned information systems, devices, and networks can obtain and maintain Authorization to Operate (ATO) and other decisions.


• This individual will plan and coordinate as part of a team to conduct assessments of information systems and networks to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and security requirements in accordance with the VA A&A process.


• Secondary responsibilities include weekly status updates and support to work in eMASS packages.


• Candidates filling these positions will need to be available to support extended core hours, which include Monday–Saturday, 6:00 AM–10:00 PM ET, and Sunday, 6:00 AM–3:00 PM ET, excluding holidays. Coverage will be provided on a rotating schedule.
  

Requirements

• Must be a US citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.


• Must Live in the US and have maintained a permanent residence in the US for at least the last 3 consecutive years (36 months)


• Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Basic Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Information Assurance (IA) controls analysis, testing, and risk assessments


• Familiarity with the use of vulnerability scanning and assessment tools necessary to identify and document compliance


• Highly self-motivated and directed with the ability to manage multi-discipline triage calls.


• Experience documenting and communicating work-a-rounds and solutions clearly


• Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks at a high level

Additional Qualifications:

• Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 and 800-37, CNSSI 1254, and other VA Risk Management policies


• Knowledge of defense-in-depth and other information security and assurance principles and associated supporting technologies


• Ability to communicate effectively with managers and customers


• Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle in a team-oriented, collaborative, agile environment.


• Experience with tools such as ServiceNow, GitHub, Jira


• High school diploma or GED

Annual salary is just one component of Le'fant's total compensation package. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $17.00 - $20.00 an hour.
