Job description

Woven by Toyota is enabling Toyota’s once-in-a-century transformation into a mobility company. Inspired by a legacy of innovating for the benefit of others, our mission is to challenge the current state of mobility through human-centric innovation — expanding what “mobility” means and how it serves society.

Our work centers on four pillars: AD/ADAS, our autonomous driving and advanced driver assist technologies; Arene, our software development platform for software‑defined vehicles; Woven City, a test course for mobility; and Cloud & AI, the digital infrastructure powering our collaborative foundation. Business‑critical functions empower these teams to execute, and together, we’re working toward one bold goal: a world with zero accidents and enhanced well‑being for all.

The Risk Management and Process Integration Lead is responsible for supporting and advancing organizational safety programs, risk management initiatives, and establishing a cross‑functional committee safety committee addressing safety risks. This role contributes to the development and implementation of the organization’s Safety Management System (SMS) including the Safety Committee, participates in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) activities, and promotes a strong and proactive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization’s Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Participate in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) activities by identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating operational and safety-related risks.

  • Develop and maintain safety policies, processes, procedures, and governance documentation aligned with Quality Management System requirements.
  • Support hazard analysis, risk assessments, and safety investigations across vehicle operations and related programs.
  • Provide guidance on safety compliance and risk management practices to cross‑functional teams.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, legal, and compliance teams to support safe operational outcomes.
  • Track corrective and preventive actions resulting from audits, assessments, incidents, or risk reviews.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and safety performance metrics for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Promote continuous improvement and foster a positive organizational safety culture.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety, Quality, Transportation, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years experience implementing Safety Management Systems (SMS) and risk management programs in automotive, autonomous vehicle, mobility or related industries.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) principles and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and continuous improvement practices.
  • Familiarity with safety case frameworks, hazard analysis methods, and risk assessment tools.
  • Experience leading committees, cross‑functional meetings, or safety governance activities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with functional safety principles and standards.
  • Familiarity with U.S. vehicle safety regulations and applicable transportation safety requirements.
  • Professional certifications related to safety, risk management, or quality are a plus.
