Job summary

Metis, Roanoke-based risk management firm, seeks a Risk Control Consultant to evaluate loss exposures and advise on risk management across multiple lines of coverage. You will develop training, perform safety assessments, and prepare comprehensive reports for clients in Virginia and West Virginia.

Minimum qualifications include 2+ years in risk management or safety, strong communication and public speaking skills, and desirable professional designations. Travel within VA/WV required.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in risk management, safety, or related field.
• Strong public speaking, communication, and computer skills.
• OSHA, GSP, ASP, CSP, ARM designation(s) or ability to obtain preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate client loss exposures and recommend risk management practices for various exposures.
• Develop and conduct training and seminars on safety and risk management topics.
• Conduct facility safety assessments focusing on workers’ compensation, general liability, and fire safety.
• Prepare detailed safety assessment reports with client communications, photos, hazards, and recommendations.

Metis is searching for a Risk Control Consultant to join our Risk Control Team!

You’ll Do Things Like:

• Evaluate client loss exposures and potential risk factors, and recommend appropriate risk management practices for automobile, property, general liability, law enforcement, and workers’ compensation exposures.
• Develop and conduct training and seminars on safety and risk management topics.
• Conduct facility safety assessments focused on potential workers’ compensation, general liability, and fire safety risks.
• Prepare detailed safety assessment reports, including client communications, photographs, hazard statements, and recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Two (2) or more years of experience in risk management, safety, or a related field required.
• Strong public speaking, communication, and computer skills required.
• GSP, ASP, CSP, OSHA, or ARM designation(s) or ability to obtain, preferred.
