Great American Insurance Company is seeking a Risk and Compliance Intern for Summer 2027 in Cincinnati, OH. The role blends in-office and remote work and supports IT risk, controls, and compliance initiatives within P&C IT Services.

The intern will assist with risk assessments, control testing, data analysis, and reporting. Strong communication, teamwork, and MS Office skills are required; candidacy from IT, cybersecurity, analytics, accounting, or business programs is preferred.

Qualifications

• Pursuing degree in IT/IS/Cybersecurity, analytics, accounting, or business.
• Minimum GPA 3.0 and active campus involvement.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing standard processes and templates for security designs and controls.
• Conduct routine risk assessments and audits with results reporting.
• Coordinate activities with Risk Management/Auditing/Governance teams.
• Collect metrics and build visual reports to show work progress.
• Support internal audit by collecting evidence per audit steps.

The IT Risk and Compliance team is seeking an intern for summer 2027. **Responsibilities:*** Assist in the development, recommendation, enhancement and implementation of basic processes and standards, including templates in support of technology designs, plans, controls and procedures.* Conduct routine assessments/audits, including risk assessments and project/control audits, and reports on results.* Coordinate activities with other Risk Management/Auditing/Governance functions throughout the organization, as appropriate.* Collect and report metrics and measurements at the organizational level, providing visibility into all work within IT by leveraging technology to improve standard process and building report visualizations.* Assist internal audit on behalf of risk and compliance to manage audit requests and collect evidence related to audits of application, operating systems, platforms, and operating procedures in accordance with the audit process/steps prescribed by management.* Verify the effectiveness of controls at the network, operating system, database, and application level.* Assist the team with developing application compliance and security processes.* Assist in the performance of compliance assessments with other members of the Risk and Compliance team, leveraging data analysis techniques when applicable.* Collect data and documentation of concern/risk areas. In addition, you will assist in developing solutions to concerns/tasks.* Help identify possible operating improvements and participate in discussions around efficiency improvements.* Provide SOX Control Support **Requirements:** Ability to work in the office at minimum three days a week. Education:* Pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Business/Data Analytics, Accounting, Finance, Business, or related* Minimum GPA: 3.0* Campus involvement. Leadership experience a plus.* 2030 or 2031 graduation year Experience/skills:* Familiar with business systems and technology concepts.
