Referment is seeking a Risk Analyst to join its Risk team in New York. The role will monitor risk exposures, develop analytics, and support capital allocation across multiple asset classes, collaborating with investment teams in a fast-paced environment.

You will apply statistical concepts to financial markets, translate complex findings for both technical and non-technical audiences, and contribute to ongoing risk-management initiatives and technology platforms.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in risk analysis or quantitative fields.

Job description

Referment is working with a global investment and technology development firm to hire a Risk Analyst for its Risk team. The role contributes to firmwide risk management by analysing investment strategies, monitoring exposures and supporting capital allocation, partnering closely with investment teams across a wide variety of financial instruments in a collegial environment.

The Role

• Monitor and assess risk exposures across multiple asset classes and strategies.
• Develop and enhance data visualisations and analytical tools to support risk reporting.
• Collaborate with investment teams to identify, investigate and communicate material changes in portfolio performance and positioning.
• Conduct in-depth analyses of business and event-driven risks, providing insights to senior stakeholders.
• Participate in the ongoing development of risk management processes and technology platforms.

What We Are Looking For

• Two to five years of relevant experience in risk analysis, financial markets or a related quantitative field.
• A bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical discipline; a graduate degree is preferred.
• Proficiency in applying statistical concepts to financial markets and securities.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Alertness to changing market conditions and an entrepreneurial approach to investigating complex problems.
• Familiarity with financial instruments and risk management concepts is preferred.

Compensation

The expected annual base salary is $140,000 to $180,000. The package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, plus medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits and a charitable gift match program.
