Job summary

Making A Difference Foundation (MADF) in Tacoma, WA, seeks a full-time Rising Roots Coordinator to deliver and coordinate the Rising Roots youth microgreens and urban agriculture workforce development program for ages 16-25 across onsite locations.

You will manage weekly sessions, support youth mentorship, track participation, and oversee microgreens production from seed to harvest across greenhouse, garden and community sites.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in program coordination or youth development.
  • Experience working with youth ages 16-25.
  • Experience working with diverse communities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace.
  • Experience using Monday.com for project tracking.
  • Experience with microgreens production or urban agriculture programs.
  • Able to lift 30-40 lbs and perform standing, bending, and light labor indoors and outdoors.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between locations.

Responsibilities

Job description

Making A Difference Foundation (MADF) is dedicated to empowering youth and supporting community-based agriculture initiatives in Tacoma, WA. As the full-time Rising Roots Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery and coordination of the Rising Roots youth microgreens and urban agriculture workforce development program. This program provides hands-on training for youth ages 16-25, focusing on microgreens production, food systems, entrepreneurship, and life skills development. You will work on-site across greenhouse, garden, and community locations, reporting directly to the Director of Programs.

Key responsibilities
  • Coordinate and facilitate weekly program sessions for youth participants
  • Support youth engagement, mentorship, and participation tracking throughout the program
  • Oversee planting, growing, and harvesting processes in microgreens and urban agriculture projects
  • Track program data and outcomes to ensure effective delivery and impact

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience facilitating group sessions or trainings
  • Availability for 2-3 evenings per week and Saturdays during the 20-week program
