Job summary

WISC-TV is seeking a part-time Associate News Producer to join our ambitious newsroom in Madison. You will write compelling stories for daily live newscasts and digital platforms, and edit video using Adobe Premiere while collaborating with producers on rundowns and content presentation.

You’ll time live shows from the production booth and work with multimedia reporters to package stories for viewers. A journalism background or current study in related fields is preferred, with training provided.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in journalism or current student in related fields preferred but not required.
• Ability to write for broadcast and digital platforms.
• Passion for visual storytelling and getting best-looking video on air.
• Familiarity with Adobe Premiere and willingness to learn Ross Inception.
• Strong attention to detail and collaborative spirit.

Responsibilities

• Write compelling stories for daily live television newscasts and digital/social platforms.
• Edit video content for newscasts using Adobe Premiere.
• Collaborate with producers on rundowns, story placement, and content presentation.
• Time live shows directly from the production booth.
• Work with multimedia reporters and photographers to package meaningful stories.
