Job summary

Giant Eagle, Inc. is seeking a Meat Cutter to prepare and present fresh meat products while delivering outstanding guest service.

You will cut meat and other products for sale, ensuring the freshest product possible and creating an exceptional shopping experience for guests. Expect to work as part of a Meat Team, focusing on teamwork, accountability, and leadership growth, with lifting requirements and adherence to food safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months experience or completion of the Giant Eagle Apprenticeship program
• Prior meat cutting experience desired
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Cut meat to be sold by trimming, slicing and packaging
• Assist guests by answering questions and filling special orders
• Rotate and check dates to ensure product safety
• Wrap and maintain meat cases
• Provide products and services that meet internal and external customer needs
• Maintain safety as a top priority for team members, guests and products
• Become familiar with store products to answer questions and make recommendations
• Operate meat grinders and equipment safely and efficiently
• Assist in maintaining meat cooler and freezer efficiency
• Follow procedures to meet out-of-stock reduction goals
