Job summary

DDG is a civil engineering design firm seeking a Civil Engineering Assistant Project Manager for our New Orleans metro offices. The role supports the Project Manager and Senior Project Manager across projects from preliminary design through construction, with a focus on client coordination and knowledge growth.

A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and up to 3 years of experience are preferred, with AutoCAD experience valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• 0-3+ years of experience with civil engineering projects.
• Path Underway to Professional Licensure (preferred).
• Experience with local jurisdictional governments related to design criteria and permitting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; AutoCAD experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Achieve project objectives by working closely with PM and SPM.
• Assist with management of client needs, project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Maintain communication with municipalities and sub-consultants.
• Coordinate with project team and client representatives on communications.
• Respond to client requests with urgency as directed by PM.
• Understand project budgets and help avoid overruns.
• Be prepared for occasional work outside normal hours.
• Assist with site evaluations, due diligence, and construction support.
