Roosevelt High School in Sioux Falls, SD is hiring for the RISE Special Education Support Professional (0.875 FTE). Starting hourly pay is $20.42 with a $1,000 sign-on bonus and a total of 35 hours per week, 9 months.
The role supports students with disabilities, assists with transportation access, and provides 1:1 and small-group instructional support under a licensed teacher. Two years post-high school education or a state-approved test are required, with prior experience in special education

- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or with behavior management.
Responsabilités
- Assists students in accessing transportation.
- Provides personal care to students with special daily living needs (toileting, feeding, physical management) as directed.
- Supports 1:1 and small-group instruction under teacher supervision in special education or regular classrooms.
- Works with students in school and community settings.
- Prepares instructional materials as directed by the teacher.
- Reinforces instructional/behavioral objectives as directed by the teacher.
- Maintains student records (charting, assignments, attendance, progress notes).
- Monitors students in lunchroom/on playground.
- Maintains confidentiality of students and families.
- Assists with management of student behavior.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands of this job include general activity such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing and pulling throughout the school day. The position requires carrying and lifting of body weight and/or objects/equipment as well as pushing/pulling forces of individuals in wheelchairs and adaptive devices from1 to 40 pounds continuously, 40-60 pounds frequently and from 60 to 99 pounds occasionally. Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical, if new hires (including transfers).
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must demonstrate and pass safety competency review on a yearly basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
- Assists students in accessing transportation.
- Provides personal care to students with special daily living needs (e.g., toileting, feeding, physical management) in accordance with established safety competencies.
- Provides review and practice of skills taught by a teacher with students 1:1 and in small groups in special education classroom and/or regular classroom.
- Works with students in schools and in community sites.
- Prepares instructional materials as directed/selected by teacher.
- Reinforces instructional/behavioral objectives with children as directed by the teacher/therapist.
- Provides assistance to maintaining student records (charting, assignments, attendance, data for progress notes).
- Monitors identified student(s) in lunchroom/on playground.
- Maintain the confidentiality of students and their families.
- Assists with management of student behavior.
Level G, Starting at $18.42 + $2* = $20.42 per hour + $1,000 sign-on bonus
*Thisposition earns the Education Support Professional differential pay. Each position that qualifies for the Education Support Professional differential pay earns an additional $2 per hour.
Pay Day: Last working day of each month,based on thepayroll cutoff schedule.
Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 3:30 pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch
