Job summary

A leading technology firm in North Carolina is looking for a datacenter system software architect. The role involves architecting and implementing high-performance RISC-V Linux systems, engaging with customers to understand requirements, and guiding the development of software stacks. Ideal candidates will have experience in defining server requirements and developing low-level code in C. Qualifications

• Experience defining requirements for x86 or ARM servers for hyperscaler use cases.
• Experience developing low-level code in C for multiprocessor operating systems.
• Strong project leadership skills to develop roadmaps and estimates.

Responsibilities

• Architect systems and system software for hyperscaler deployments.
• Engage with customers to integrate functional and performance requirements.
• Help guide development of RISC-V software stacks for servers.

Skills

Experience defining requirements for x86 or ARM servers

Experience with key server requirements (RAS, telemetry, etc.)

Experience with application workloads (AI/ML, databases)

Low-level code development in C

Understanding of computer architecture

Writing and reviewing architecture specifications

Familiarity with modern ecosystems (PCIe, UEFI)

Experience with the RISC-V ISA

Experience with datacenter Linux distributions

Strong communication skills

Strong project leadership skills
