Job summary

TechnipFMC Houston is seeking a VSO Support Engineer to provide expert knowledge for Spoolbase Fabrication across welding, NDE, and coating processes. You will support qualification, production, and lessons learned while leading safety initiatives.

Role requires 2+ years in engineering, strong reading/interpreting of technical documents, and ability to work with SAP/Teamcenter. You will collaborate with Core Technologies and global teams to standardize processes and drive improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Material Science, Welding, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial)
  • Minimum 2+ years of engineering experience
  • Experience or knowledge in welding processes (IWE/EWE/AWS certifications are a plus)
  • NDE (certifications preferred)
  • FJC systems (NACE/AMPP certifications a plus)
  • Ability to oversee and support qualification activities across welding, NDE, and coating
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and develop technical procedures and documentation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with global teams
  • Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office, SAP, Teamcenter, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Lead failure investigations and root cause analyses, ensuring timely and effective resolution
  • Champion standardization, simplification, and industrialization initiatives across the organization

Job Purpose

Working within the global Core Technologies team, the VSO Support Engineer will provide assistance through expert knowledge for Spoolbase Fabrication. This includes but is not limited to welding, non‑destructive evaluation & field joint coating. The support extends through all aspects of a product life – tendering, qualification, production and lessons learned.

You Are Meant For This Job If
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Material Science, Welding, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial)
