Job summary

Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center is seeking a qualified candidate to join the Real Estate/Land Acquisition team in a full-time capacity. The role involves appraisal reviews, technical document reviews, program support, and providing guidance to maximize production while minimizing impact on public property.

Responsibilities include coordinating engineering activities, reviewing legal documents, and advising regional staff with a focus on accuracy and compliance with federal/state laws

Qualifications

• Ability to conduct legal research.
• Ability to read plat sheets.
• Ability to work independently and complete routine work with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of project management techniques and tools.
• Interpersonal skills with persuasion and conflict management.
• Computers and web-based applications proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Appraisal Reviews: Recommend revisions or corrections and approve appraisals prepared by staff, fee or consultant appraisers for all types of real property to determine just compensation.
• Perform Technical Reviews: Review certificates, plans, descriptions including centerline, metes and bounds, plats, utility clauses and condemnation authorizations; ensure compliance and comunicates edits.
• Program Assistance: provide technical assistance to program manager in charge of acquisition, legal, relocation, etc.; review documents and provide training to staff.
• Provide Technical Support: guide to maximize production, accuracy and timeliness; support management; provide training and updates.
