The position involves selecting rigging gear, attaching loads to overhead structures, signaling Crane Operators for safe hoisting, and setting up rigging equipment. Strong safety awareness and ability to work in varied environments are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
• Observe SIC and Customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.

Responsibilities

• Select cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves based on load weight and size.
• Attach pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures with bolts and clamps.
• Attach load with grappling devices to crane hook.
• Direct Crane Operator with hand signals or devices to ensure safety.
• Set up, brace, and rig hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches.
• Splice rope and wire cables to make or repair slings and tackle.
• Coordinate movement of equipment according to signals and directions.
• Recognize and respond to dangerous conditions promptly.
