Job summary

Wyatt Field Service is seeking Riggers for an industrial outage project in Goose Creek, SC. You will safely prepare, move, and install materials and equipment for FGD absorber outage activities at a power plant, coordinating with crane operators, boilermakers, and craftsmen.

The role requires reading lift plans, working around cranes, and applying rigging best practices. This is a hands-on, safety-critical assignment with a strong emphasis on teamwork and precise material handling.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of rigging practices, load calculations, and safe lifting procedures.
• Ability to read lift plans, drawings, and material identification information.
• Experience working around cranes, hoisting equipment, and industrial construction projects.
• Working knowledge of rigging equipment such as chain falls, slings, shackles, and related gear.
• Commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship; pre-employment drug test required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, inspect, and secure loads for lifting and material handling operations.
• Select and utilize appropriate rigging equipment based on load size, weight, center of gravity, and configuration.
• Assist with crane setup activities, including preparation of lifting areas and support of crane operations.
• Perform rigging, signaling, flagging, and load control during lifting and material handling activities.
• Receive, unload, stage, and organize incoming materials and equipment.
• Assist Boilermakers and other craft personnel with the removal, relocation, staging, and disposal of absorber materials and components.
• Identify and locate materials using drawings, tags, and part numbers to support construction and maintenance activities.
• Assist with the installation and removal of FGD absorber components utilizing chain falls, come-alongs, belly lines, cranes, and other approved lifting devices.
• Support field fabrication and installation activities, including cutting, bolting, fitting, positioning, and removal of structural steel, plate, ductwork, piping, and associated components.
• Maintain effective communication with crane operators and work crews to ensure safe, efficient lifting operations.
• Follow all project safety requirements, lift plans, and company procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Schedule: Monday-Saturday | 10-hour shifts

We are currently seeking Riggers to support a project at an industrial power plant in Goose Creek, SC. The Rigger is responsible for the safe preparation, handling, movement, and installation of materials and equipment associated with FGD absorber outage activities. This position works closely with crane operators, boilermakers, supervisors, and other craft personnel to ensure materials are safely lifted, positioned, relocated, and installed in accordance with project requirements and safety standards.
