Position: Rigger/Driver
Location: RMS Wind - Casper, WY
Report to: Branch Manager
RMS offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package which includes health benefits and a per diem when traveling out of town. Pay will depend on experience. We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic Rigger/Driver to join our growing team.
In this entry‑level position, you will perform rigging operations to ensure the safe movement of loads. You will also drive a truck to the job site, following all state, federal, and company safety and environmental policies.
Responsibilities
- Understand and perform proper rigging techniques to ensure safe movement of the load.
- Utilize proper hand signals during all operations.
- Properly secure equipment to the trailer before operating the truck.
- Inspect truck and trailer, fill out truck inspection report before operating the vehicle, and turn in the report to the supervisor.
- Report mechanical defects in writing on the truck and/or trailers to the shop technician or supervisor.
- Monitor inventory of chains, boom, and straps assigned to the truck and report missing equipment to supervisor.
- Inspect, clean, and perform maintenance on chains, boom, and straps.
- Document and turn in all maintenance and repairs performed on the equipment to the supervisor.
- Clean the outside and cab area of your assigned vehicle daily.
- Monitor the annual state inspection and state license plates, reporting to the supervisor one month before expiration.
- Report to dispatcher immediately on completion of the assigned job task for the next assignment.
- At the end of the shift, review the next day’s job assignment and have all necessary rigging and equipment ready before ending the shift.
- Complete payroll timesheet with hours worked; hours must be reported to the branch office by 7:00 a.m. every Monday.
- If not on a job assignment, inform the supervisor and remain productive by cleaning, inspecting, and performing maintenance in the shop.
- Carry and answer the phone in a prompt manner.
- Clean, inspect, and reorganize equipment in shop and yard; clean shop, wash rack and break room.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current state‑issued CDL Class A driver’s license.
- 1–3 years of rigging and commercial driving experience.
