Location: Maryville TN
Hours: Fri, Sat, Sun 6AM-6PM
Pay: $17.70 plus $1.00 Shift Differential

Trailer Assembly Technician
Position Summary

The Trailer Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling and installing components, accessories, and finishing parts on boat trailers. This role utilizes hand and power tools to ensure trailers meet quality standards and customer specifications while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assembly & Installation
  • Assemble and install large and small components onto painted boat trailers.
  • Install trailer accessories and add-ons, including lighting, fenders, non-skid mats, wheels, tires, bunks/boards, winches, jacks, and related hardware.
  • Use measuring tapes, combination squares, and other measuring devices to accurately position, align, and secure components.
  • Operate hand and power tools to install bolts, screws, fasteners, and other trailer parts.
Quality Control
  • Inspect completed work for defects, blemishes, and quality concerns.
  • Perform repairs and adjustments as needed to ensure products meet company quality standards.
  • Notify supervisors of any quality issues or production concerns.
  • Review and sign off on completed work orders and finished assemblies.
Workplace Organization & Safety
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Properly maintain tools, equipment, and workstations.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Consistently support the company’s commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Team Support
  • Participate in cross‑training opportunities to support other departments as needed.
  • Assist with additional duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Work overtime as required to complete scheduled production assignments.
  • Cross‑train in other departments to provide operational support when needed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of six (6) months of assembly, manufacturing, or warehouse experience preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Knowledge and safe operation of hand and power tools.
  • Basic math skills, including arithmetic, measurement, and geometry.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, diagrams, and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible and adaptable in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform detailed work requiring close visual attention.
  • Frequent use of hands, arms, and fingers to grasp, manipulate, and assemble components.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, squat, and work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Ability to work overhead, vertically, and in confined spaces as required.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to maintain balance and safely navigate around equipment, tools, and materials.
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing facility environment.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, face shields, and steel‑toe footwear.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, including hot and cold conditions.
  • Compliance with all company safety policies and procedures is required.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $17.70 - $18.70
