Job summary

Diversified Gas & Oil Corporation is hiring a Rig Floor Hand to join our field crew in the Appalachian Basin. You will work under the Rig Foreman and be part of a team responsible for the maintenance and day to day operation of service rigs.

Primary duties include servicing oil and gas wells, maintaining draw works, handling rig equipment safely, loading tubing, and supporting safe drilling operations while adhering to company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience running Power Tongs.
• Knowledge of removal of rods and tubing from Gas & Oil wells.
• Knowledge of types of drill pipe and drill collars.
• Knowledge of thread types and tubing sizes.
• Knowledge of working derricks and drill floor.
• CDL a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform services on oil and gas wells.
• Perform general maintenance of draw works.
• Utilize rig equipment to safely perform drilling operations.
• Assist in loading and off-loading pipe and other items from the truck/trailer to the rig.
• Pick up and lay down tubing.
• Operate crew truck in a safe and lawful manner.
• Lift, remove, install and operate well head pump.
• Position and install matting boards, tubing, rods, and casing.
• Operate rod wrenches, tongs, elevators and other rig tools.
• Complete daily logbooks and safety documentation.
• Attend safety meetings and trainings.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Rig Operator, Rig Supervisor or Company Official.

POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Rig Floor Hand will work under the direction of the Rig Foreman. This individual will be part of a crew that is responsible for the maintenance and day to day operation of the service rigs.

Special focus will be placed on:

• Perform services on oil and gas wells
• Perform general maintenance of draw works
• Utilize rig equipment (tongs, slips, elevators, and winch line) to safely perform drilling operations
• Assist in loading and off-loading pipe and other items from the truck/trailer to the rig
• Pick up and lay down tubing
• Operate crew truck in safe and lawful manner and in accordance with company policy
• Lift, remove, install and operate well head pump
• Position, lift, attach, install and work with matting boards, tubing, rods, casing and associated well equipment such as rod strippers, polish rods, etc.
• Operate rod wrenches, tongs, elevators and other associated rig tools and equipment
• Perform safety and functionality inspections of equipment and tools as required
• Complete required work plans and job safety analysis
• Attend and participate in all safety meetings and trainings
• Document and complete daily logbooks
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Rig Operator, Rig Supervisor or Company Official

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience running Power Tongs
• Knowledge of removal of rods and tubing from Gas and Oil wells
• Basic mechanical knowledge of disassembling and assembling Gas & Oil well heads
• Knowledge of types of drill pipe and drill collars
• Knowledge of thread types and tubing sizes
• Knowledge of working derricks and drill floor
• Must possess valid driver's license CDL a plus

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Must be able to move or traverse from one location on the job site to another. This includes the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, frequently positioning oneself (e.g., to stoop, kneel, or squat) to perform tasks, and occasionally ascend/descend (e.g., ladders or uneven terrain)
• Ability to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, and assess driving operations effectively (either naturally or with corrective lenses).
• Ability to operate a 4X4 vehicle.
• Must be able to repetitively move or position feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, and back. Constantly operates, uses, and positions hands and fingers in performance of work
• Must be able to work atop elevated surfaces and traverse various heights
• Lifts or carries 67 lbs. or more, which falls into the \"heavy\" category (over 50 pounds).
• Frequently pushes and pulls with a maximum force of 150 ft./lbs.
• Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions and is exposed to varying environmental conditions, including well site conditions. The position requires the ability to perform tasks in physically demanding environments, encompassing the essential physical requirements and efforts outline

Driver Requirements:

• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record
• This position involves operating a company vehicle for work-related travel or receiving a stipend for operating a personal vehicle for company use; adherence to all traffic laws and company vehicle policies is required.
