Job summary

Nabors is seeking a Rig Automation Technology Engineer II to support development, integration, commissioning, and troubleshooting of drilling rig automation technologies. You will act as a technical link between engineering development and field execution, coordinating with Controls & Automation, EMS Tech Support, Rig Engineering, Rig Operations, and suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Petroleum Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum three years of oil and gas industry experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Basic reading of engineering drawings and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic engineering calculations for safety and feasibility of designs.
  • Support integration, testing, commissioning, deployment, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of drilling rig automation systems.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation (functional requirements, test procedures, reports, field records).
  • Review drawings and specifications to assess feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and suppliers for field execution and deliverables.
  • Expand knowledge through hands-on field testing and commissioning activities.
