Job summary

Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park seeks a Rides Team Member to help operate rides safely and efficiently, greet guests, and enforce park policies.

The role requires completing the International Ride Operator Certification course, working in various weather, and flexible hours including weekends and holidays; background checks are required.

Qualifications

  • Must be 16 years of age.
  • Ability to read and understand operations manuals.
  • Strong oral and written English skills to communicate with Guests and Team Members.
  • Able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
  • All offers contingent on passing a background check (criminal, drug, alcohol, and SS number).

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests and provide courteous service while enforcing ride safety requirements and park policies.
  • Complete the International Ride Operator Certification course.
  • Operate rides as trained per SOP and safety guidelines.
  • Minimize distractions to maintain safe ride operation.
  • Maintain park cleanliness at assigned locations and perform other duties as assigned.

JOB TITLE:Rides Team Member
REPORTS TO: Team Leads and Area Supervisors
DEPARTMENT:Rides
PAY RATE:$19.29/hour

JOB SUMMARY:Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of different rides and/or attractions.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Greet and provide Guests with courteous service. Assist Guests as needed with questions, comments, and concerns. Inform Guests of and enforce ride safety requirements and park policies.
  • Successful completion of the International Ride Operator Certification course
  • Operate rides as trained andin accordance withthe Standard Operating Procedure manuals and International Ride Training Ten Critical Components of operational safety.
  • Minimizesdistractionssuch as, but not limited to guests, team members, electronic devices (including but not limited to cell phones, smart watches, headphones/earbuds...etc.) whilemaintainingattention andfocuson ride operation.
  • MaintainParkcleanliness with specific attention to assigned location(s).
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Candidate must be 16 years of age.
  • Must be able to read and understand operations manuals.
  • You mustpossessoral and written English skills and must be able to communicate with Guests and fellow Team Members effectively.
  • May be exposed to bodily fluids and willutilizechemicals and cleaning agents daily.
  • Some positions require working at elevated heights and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Required to work in various weather conditions.
  • Available to work overtime if over 18 years of age.
  • Available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Alljob offerscontingent on passing a criminal, drug, alcohol, and social security background check.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Requiresabilityto stand and walk eight to ten hours for the shift.
  • Requires constant kneeling, bending, reaching above shoulder,pushingand pulling.
  • Requires constant lifts and carries up to 30 pounds.
  • Requires occasionalcarriesup to 100 pounds with theassistanceof a two-wheel hand truck.
  • Requires manual and bi-manual dexterity, fine and gross motor skills, eye/hand coordination, near vision, hearing, and speech.
  • Possess 20/20 corrected vision. (Correctivelens, ifrequired, must be worn while on duty).
  • Possess normal or average corrected hearing. (Defined as 25 decibels or better in the frequency range of 500HZ-4000HZ considered normal speech frequency range). (If a corrective device is needed to achieve this range, it must be worn while on duty.)
