Job summary

MAT Holdings, Inc. is seeking a seasoned ride-control engineer to develop and tune passive damper systems for automotive platforms. You will guide evaluation programs, coordinate prototype activities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve ride, handling, and durability targets.

The role requires deep knowledge of suspension dynamics, platform integration, and validation planning, with travel up to 20% and a track record of leading engineering initiatives in a Tier 1/2 setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5+ years in automotive industry.
• Experience with suspension, ride control, and vehicle dynamics.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with APQP, DFMEA, and DV/PV testing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead vehicle ride and handling development, objective and subjective evaluations, and passive damper tuning activities.
• Support the design, specification, and integration of passive dampers into OEM vehicle platforms.
• Coordinate, review, prioritize, and track prototype requests through the Technical Center to support engineering, customer, and program timing requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, suppliers, quality, and prototype build teams to resolve technical issues and support prototype builds.
• Develop and execute proving ground, laboratory, and public road validation plans.
• Analyze vehicle dynamics, ride, handling, and durability data to optimize damper valving and suspension performance.
• Support APQP, DFMEA, DV/PV testing, engineering changes, launch readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
