UPMC St. Margaret is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RIC Resource Pool) to join our team in a highly autonomous role supporting patient care across multiple inpatient units. This part‑time position (20-24 hours per week) offers a rotating day and night shift schedule and provides the opportunity to practice at the top of your license while caring for a diverse and complex patient population.

As a Resource Pool RN, you will float throughout the hospital based on patient care needs, partnering with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high‑quality, patient‑centered care. RIC RNs respond confidently to rapidly changing clinical situations, support evidence‑based practice and Relationship‑Based Care principles, and serve as clinical resources for bedside nurses. In addition to providing exceptional patient care, RIC RNs mentor staff, model clinical excellence, and contribute to a collaborative, healthy work environment focused on outstanding patient outcomes.

This position is designed for experienced ICU nurses who thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy variety in their practice. A minimum of one year of recent ICU experience is required to ensure readiness for independent practice across multiple care settings. Due to the advanced nature of this role, Graduate Nurses and nurses without prior ICU experience are not eligible. While there are no on‑call requirements, the schedule does include some weekends and alternating holidays.
