Job summary

Jackson is seeking an RIA External Consultant to build and manage relationships with Independent Registered Investment Advisers in TN, AR, LA, AL, MS. You will conduct meetings, seminars, and campaigns to drive territory sales and keep advisers informed of Jackson's product enhancements.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, 3+ years in investments sales, and FINRA/SIE and Series licenses with an Industry designation preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3+ years of sales experience in investments, mutual funds, insurance, or annuities.
• 5+ years of experience preferred.
• Prior annuity or investment external wholesaling experience preferred.
• FINRA SIE, FINRA Series 6 or 7, FINRA Series 63, State Insurance License required.
• Additional registrations as necessary due to regulatory changes.
• Industry designations (CFA/CFP/CIMA) preferred.

Responsibilities

Job Purpose

The RIA External Consultant is responsible for creating new and managing existing relationships in the Independent Registered Investment Adviser channel to increase Jackson Sales in the given territory. This is accomplished through meetings, seminars, campaigns, and follow up. The RIA External Consultant is responsible for keeping advisers informed of Jackson's rapidly changing product and service/platform enhancements.

Territory is located in TN, AR, LA, AL, MS. Candidate must live in the territory.

Essential Responsibilities

• Works closely with the VP, RIA Sales to develop an appropriate business plan to maximize territorial sales.
• Conducts product and sales training through individual and group training sessions, seminars, workshops, and branch meetings.
• Strategically plans and manages the deployment of resources to maximize territory sales while being responsible for budget and expenses.
• Works in conjunction with an Internal Wholesaler to identify and foster leads generated from referrals, campaigns, and territory canvassing, and meeting follow-up.
• Utilizes Jackson databases to create and maintain adviser profiles and data on sales activity.
• Utilizes CRM system to communicate effectively with internal partners.
• Operates in a “hybrid” wholesaling capacity which entails spending up to 25% of time in the field, running “video” virtual meetings, and engaging with Advisors through traditional avenues such as telephone, email, and virtual meetings.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong ability to work independently and to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Ability to create and deliver effective presentations to current and prospective advisers.
• Thorough knowledge of sales and marketing principles and practices.
• Expected to maintain knowledge of existing Jackson products, new or enhanced Jackson products, Jackson Marketing Campaigns, and Jackson’s RIA Platform capabilities.
• Ability to identify and position Jackson products and services, utilizing financial planning tools and platforms commonly used by independent RIAs.
• Proven ability to grow a territory as measured by sales, active adviser count, and persistency of business.
• Strong aptitude for technology, including software applications, e‑mail, and database management from remote locations.
• Excellent prospecting skills.
• Meet activity requirements.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Benefits and Compensation

• Base Pay:$70,000.00. The amount listed reflects base salary only.
• In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in our annual bonus program and will be eligible to earn special compensation based on sales.
• This role will also be eligible for compensated personal time off and holidays, health benefits, 401(k) plan with generous matching and other benefit programs according to the Company's employment policies and subject to the formal terms of such plans and programs.
