Job summary

LabCorp's Esoterix division is seeking a Clinical Lab Scientist to join the Rheumatology-focused team in Calabasas, CA. The role supports esoteric testing for hospitals and specialists, with afternoon/evening shifts on Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday.

Responsibilities include testing specimens, reviewing results, and providing technical oversight of staff while adhering to CLIA, CAP, and SOPs. CA CLS license required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
• High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Tests specimens according to established procedures.
• Reviews patient results and reports out to client.
• Provides technical oversight of laboratory personnel with direct supervision of their test‑assisting activities.
• Reports results if assay performance meets specifications via LIS interface or manual entry.
• Follows SOPs for acceptance/rejection of results and records remediation as needed.
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and documents PMs.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or related field
