Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Rheumatologist to join our expanding specialty team. You will provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and management of rheumatic and autoimmune disorders in outpatient and limited inpatient settings, with strong referral networks and administrative backing.

The ideal candidate will build and grow the rheumatology service line in a collaborative environment, receive a competitive compensation

Qualifications

• MD/DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of Internal Medicine residency (ACGME accredited).
• Completion of Rheumatology fellowship.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Rheumatology.
• Eligible for medical licensure in Maine.
• DEA registration.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage autoimmune and inflammatory disorders including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, vasculitis and connective tissue diseases.
• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans including biologic and immunomodulatory therapies.
• Perform joint injections and musculoskeletal assessments.
• Collaborate with Primary Care, Orthopedics, Nephrology, Dermatology and other specialties.
• Participate in multidisciplinary care coordination and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and support patient safety.
• Optional participation in teaching, research, or community outreach initiatives.
