Connectly Recruiting seeks a board-certified or board-eligible Rheumatologist for a full-time, on-site position in Rutland, Vermont. The role emphasizes patient-centered care with strong administrative support and multidisciplinary collaboration in outpatient clinics and consult services.

The ideal candidate has an ACGME Rheumatology fellowship, Vermont license or eligibility, and experience with DMARDs/biologics, EMR systems, and osteoporosis management.

• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency and a Rheumatology fellowship.
• Active Vermont medical license or eligibility before start date.
• Board certification or active board eligibility in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology; DEA registration required.

Responsabilidades

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with rheumatic, autoimmune, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal disorders.
• Take comprehensive histories, perform exams, and assess disease activity and treatment response.
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, and other data to guide decisions.
• Develop patient-centered treatment plans including DMARDs, biologics, steroids, and non-pharmacologic options.
• Perform routine rheumatology procedures as clinically indicated.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, risks, and self-management.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and coordinate with primary care and specialty teams.

Setting: Outpatient Specialty Clinic with Inpatient Consultation Support

Location: Rutland, Vermont

We have partnered closely with a prominent regional healthcare network to secure a full-time, dedicated medical professional for their specialty services division. We are currently seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Rheumatologist to join an established clinical team. Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with a wide spectrum of complex rheumatic, autoimmune, inflammatory, and musculoskeletal disorders in accordance with current evidence-based standards of care.
• Obtain comprehensive medical histories, perform detailed physical examinations, and skillfully assess disease activity, functional status, and long-term treatment response.
• Order, interpret, and integrate specialized laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging studies, bone health assessments, and other clinical data to guide clinical decision-making.
• Develop individualized, patient-centered treatment plans featuring both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, lifestyle counseling, and targeted sub-specialty referrals.
• Prescribe and manage advanced therapeutic regimens—including disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), biological agents, corticosteroids, and immunomodulatory therapies—while closely monitoring treatment efficacy and medication safety.
• Perform routine office-based procedures within the scope of practice, such as joint injections, aspirations, and other rheumatology-specific interventions as clinically indicated.
• Educate patients and their families regarding chronic diagnoses, treatment alternatives, therapeutic risks/benefits, and long-term self-management strategies.
• Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely electronic medical record (EMR) documentation in full compliance with organizational, payer, and regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate closely with primary care providers, specialty physicians, nursing staff, and rehabilitation professionals to deliver coordinated, interdisciplinary chronic disease care.
• Participate actively in clinical protocol development, provider meetings, peer reviews, utilization management, and share in departmental call coverage or organizational initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
• Training: Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency program and an accredited Rheumatology fellowship program.
• Licensure: Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Vermont (or immediate eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start date).
• Certifications: Board certification or active board eligibility in both Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. Must maintain an active, unrestricted DEA registration.
• Preferred Experience: Prior outpatient specialty practice experience, proficiency with musculoskeletal ultrasound, advanced osteoporosis management, and strong EMR charting/documentation skills are highly desired.
