Job summary

Patriot, LLC seeks an experienced Red Hat Enterprise Linux Administrator to manage and optimize our federal client's RHEL environment.

You will maintain, secure, and monitor the RHEL infrastructure, perform patching, backups, and on-call rotations in a government setting in Annapolis Junction, MD.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Linux/Red Hat system administration experience.
• Active Secret clearance; US citizenship required.
• On-site in Annapolis Junction, MD five days a week.
• Ability to participate in on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Manage RHEL-based server infrastructure, installation, configuration, and patch management.
• Perform system administration for RHEL 7.x/8.x, setup, configuration, and maintenance.
• Monitor performance and optimize reliability; identify bottlenecks.
• Execute backups and high-availability strategies to protect data.
• Develop and maintain documentation for configurations and procedures.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments using Tenable and HP WebInspect.

Job description

Patriot, LLC is seeking an accomplished Red Hat Enterprise Linux Administrator to provide expertise in managing and optimizing assets for our federal client’s critical operations. As a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Admin, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the RHEL infrastructure, overseeing system administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and ensuring stability, security, and performance of the RHEL environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support RHEL-based server infrastructure, encompassing installation, configuration, and patch management
• Perform system administration tasks for RHEL 7.x/8.x, including setup, configuration, and ongoing maintenance
• Monitor and analyze system performance to identify and resolve bottlenecks, implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and reliability
• Execute system backup and recovery operations to ensure data protection and high availability
• Assess and recommend hardware and software solutions to address business needs and improve the RHEL server environment
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures
• Conduct vulnerability assessments using tools like Tenable, HP WebInspect, and similar platforms
• Investigate security incidents, assess risks, and design mitigation strategies, implementing proactive and reactive measures to enhance security

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance
• Due to federal requirements, all candidates must be US Citizens without dual citizenship to another country.
• 7+ years of experience working as a system administrator on Linux or Red Hat systems is required; related experience is acceptable
• This is an on‑site position at a government facility, requiring presence on‑site five days per week in Annapolis Junction, MD
• Candidates must reside within a commutable distance
• Participation in a rotational on‑call schedule for emergency page‑outs is required
