FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED SINCE, 1967 R.H. Phillips Trucking specializes in loading, unloading and transporting of steel tubing. We are looking for an experienced Truck Driver to serve our supply chain logistics department in a safe and timely manner. Responsibilities
· Transport finished goods and raw materials to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers
· Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
· Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
· Document and log work/rest periods, retain fuel/toll receipts
· Add “notations” into our automated Geotab system for each stage of the loading and unloading process, Fuel, and Breaks.
· Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
· Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
· Collect and verify delivery instructions
· Report defects, accidents or violations
· Must be able to haul loads with a van body, and flatbed trailers with tarps. Flatbed loads include strapping bundles, steel coils and machinery.
· Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours-or more, if necessary.
Requirements
· Proven work experience as a Truck Driver
· Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly if needed
· Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
· Not more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years
· No major violations
· Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
· Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations
· Must have valid class “A” CDL license
· Two years driving experience
