Job summary

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a motivated RF Validation Engineer Co-op for Summer/Fall 2027.

You will work with an elite RF team and a mentor to grow your skills while measuring RF circuits and analyzing test data on real products in a fast-paced environment. The role emphasizes RF and Microwave fundamentals, hands-on testing with oscilloscope, VNA and spectrum analyzer, and presenting findings to design engineers.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an Electrical Engineering BS or MS program and returning to school after the Co-Op.
• Must be able to complete a 6 month Co-Op term (June–December 2027).
• Strong background in RF and Microwave design.
• Knowledge of RF parameters (insertion loss, return loss, harmonics, IMD, IIP2/3, VSWR, NF).
• RFIC design and simulation experience is a plus.
• Experience using RF equipment (oscilloscope, VNA, spectrum analyzer, RF sources).
• Good debugging, communication, data summary and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support design and test evaluations, data validation of multi-chip-modules with integrated power amplifiers, switches, acoustic filters, LNAs, and CMOS controllers.
• Perform RF tests, evaluate, summarize, and present data to design engineers.
• Assist design using RF modeling tools and analysis of test data with production team.

Our Cedar Rapids location specializes in RF connectivity products covering a range of solutions, end markets and applications. Your job function will include but not be limited to measuring RF circuits and analyzing RF performance test data while helping to improve the performance of new designs in a fast-paced environment.

Required Experience and Skills

• Must be currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering BS or MS program, and be returning to school after the completion of this Co-Op
• Must have the ability to complete a 6 month Co-Op term prior to graduation. Term is Summer/Fall 2027 (June - December)
• Strong background in RF and Microwave design
• Knowledge in RF parameters (insertion loss, return loss, harmonics, IMD, IIP2/3, VSWR, NF, etc.)
• RFIC Design and Simulation experience will be a plus
• Experience in using RF equipment such as oscilloscope, VNA, spectrum analyzer, RF sources
• Debugging experience
• Good communication, data summary and presentation skills

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
