Job summary

BRINC Drones seeks an RF Test Engineer to design and develop automated test systems for validating the RF subsystems of our drones and public safety products. You will create test setups, run plans, and collaborate across hardware, firmware, and software teams to improve product designs based on results.

You will troubleshoot hardware issues, perform environmental and stress testing, and document procedures and outcomes to ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of RF testing experience, preferably with UAVs, robotics, or consumer electronics.
  • Proficiency with RF test equipment (VNAs, spectrum analyzers, wideband testers, signal analyzers).
  • Experience with automated test development using Python, LabVIEW, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop test hardware setups and automated testing systems for drone RF subsystems.
  • Define and execute test plans to validate RF subsystems and their interaction with the drone.
  • Develop and maintain test scripts and software for automated testing.
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues and recommend design improvements.
  • Conduct environmental and stress testing to ensure durability.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to refine designs based on test results.

About This Role

We are seeking an RF Test Engineer to design and develop test systems for validating the performance, reliability, and safety of our drones and public safety products. In this role, you will be responsible for creating automated and manual test setups, troubleshooting hardware issues, and ensuring our products meet rigorous quality standards. You will collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, and software teams to develop test procedures and improve product designs based on test results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop test hardware setups, fixtures, and automated testing systems for drone RF subsystems
  • Define and execute test plans to validate RF subsystems and how they interact with the rest of the drone.
  • Develop and maintain test scripts and software for automated testing.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware issues, providing recommendations for design improvements.
  • Conduct environmental and stress testing to ensure product durability in real‑world conditions.
  • Work with engineering teams to refine designs based on test results and failure analysis.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of test procedures, results, and issue resolutions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field or relevant experience
  • 3+ years of experience in RF testing, preferably in UAVs, robotics, or consumer electronics.
  • Proficiency with RF test equipment such as VNAs, Spectrum Analyzers, Wideband Radio Communication testers, and signal analyzers.
  • Experience with automated test development using Python, LabVIEW, or similar tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and RF systems.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with LTE, GNSS and WiFi
  • Knowledge of regulatory testing and compliance for RF subsystems.
  • Familiarity with antenna design.
  • Experience with PCB debugging and hardware validation methodologies.
