Job summary

Blue Signal Search is seeking an RF Specialist to deliver reliable in-building communications across nationwide projects. This hands-on role combines remote flexibility with extensive field involvement, including commissioning and acceptance.

You'll diagnose RF issues, validate DAS/ERRCS/ERCES systems, review heatmaps and drawings, and communicate findings to field teams, customers, and authorities having jurisdiction.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years hands-on experience with RF systems, public safety DAS/ERRCS/ ERCES, wireless communications, or related fields.
• Strong RF fundamentals across VHF/UHF, 700/800 MHz, P25, LTE, noise, gain, loss, and signal behavior.
• Commission and validate ERRCS/ERCES using RF test methods, field measurements, and documented acceptance criteria.
• Read and interpret RF heatmaps, design plans, construction drawings, and technical documentation for field work.
• Analytical and troubleshooting skills to isolate RF issues and identify corrective actions.
• Ability to work in active construction environments and travel nationwide.
• Working knowledge of electrical fundamentals (grounding, circuits, power levels) when evaluating performance.
• Possess a valid driver's license and comfort with ladders, lifts, and elevated areas.

Responsibilities

• Commission and validate public safety DAS and ERRCS/ERCES through field testing and acceptance.
• Troubleshoot RF performance: coverage, interference, noise, gain, loss.
• Perform uplink and downlink testing and document results for project teams and authorities.
• Support system optimization by identifying root causes and corrective actions.
• Review RF heatmaps, design packages, and construction drawings for alignment with requirements.
• Participate in site walks, inspections, commissioning, and acceptance testing nationwide.
• Maintain thorough project documentation from onset to completion.
• Communicate technical findings clearly to field teams, project leadership, customers, and authorities having jurisdiction.

Skill Set:

• Bring 2 to 5 years of hands‑on experience with RF systems, public safety DAS, ERRCS/ERCES, wireless communications, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrate strong RF fundamentals across VHF/UHF, 700/800 MHz, P25, LTE, noise, gain, loss, and signal behavior.
• Commission and validate ERRCS/ERCES systems using RF test methods, field measurements, and documented acceptance criteria.
• Read and interpret RF heatmaps, design plans, construction drawings, and technical documentation used to guide field work.
• Apply strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to isolate RF issues and determine practical corrective actions.
• Work confidently in active construction environments and perform frequent nationwide field travel as project needs require.
• Use working knowledge of electrical fundamentals such as grounding, circuits, and power levels when evaluating system performance.
• Hold a valid driver's license and be comfortable working from ladders, lifts, and elevated areas when required.
