Job summary

Vitesse Systems is seeking an RF Fellow in Longmont, CO to lead the development and evaluation of next‑generation RF payloads and communication systems for satellites, aerospace, and defense applications. You will mentor engineers, influence roadmaps, and provide technical oversight across multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires advanced RF engineering expertise, a strong track record of leadership, and the ability to obtain necessary security clearances.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in a relevant technical field.
• Extensive RF engineering experience in communications systems and payload development.
• Proven leadership and subject matter expertise in RF technologies.
• Ability to lead complex initiatives across multiple programs or product lines.
• Strong analytical, communication, and mentoring skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances or access requirements.
• US citizenship or permanent residency to comply with ITAR.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the organization's technical authority for RF payloads and related technologies.
• Provide technical leadership in the design, development, integration, and evaluation of RF payloads and communication systems.
• Develop product and technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives and future market needs.
• Lead technical trade studies, architecture evaluations, and engineering analyses.
• Identify and evaluate emerging technologies to improve performance, manufacturability, reliability and cost competitiveness.
• Support business development with technical expertise for customer engagements and proposals.
• Mentor engineers and staff to advance technical capabilities and innovation.
• Represent the organization as a technical expert at customer meetings and industry events.
