Job summary

CACI International Inc. is seeking a RF Network Test and Evaluation Engineer (Radios) in Maryland. You will design and execute RF tests, evaluate SDR and COTS mesh networks, and analyze real-time data across field and lab environments.

You will draft test methodologies, define GO/NO GO criteria, and collaborate with product teams and military units. Travel to Army field sites is required, and a Secret clearance is preferred to support critical national missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on RF comms, SDRs, and test equipment experience; 10+ years may substitute for degree.
• Eligible to obtain a DoD Secret clearance; active Secret desirable.

Job Title: RF Network Test and Evaluation Engineer (Radios)Job Category: EngineeringTime Type: Full timeMinimum Clearance Required to Start: SecretEmployee Type: RegularPercentage of Travel Required: Up to 10%Type of Travel: Continental US* * *Required Qualifications• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.• Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience with RF communications, software-defined radios, and relevant test equipment (Field Fox, VNA, power meters). 10+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.Security Clearance:• Must be eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. Active Secret clearance is highly desirable.Technical Expertise• Strong working knowledge of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) tactical mesh networks and radios. Familiarity with systems from vendors such as Silvus, TrellisWare, Persistent Systems, Qualcomm, and/or Anduril.• Understanding of RF fundamentals, antenna theory, link margins, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and spectrum management. Experience utilizing RF and network measurement hardware (e.g., spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, channel emulators, erc.).• Proficiency in evaluating data plane and network plane performance metrics (Throughput UDP/TCP, Jitter, Latency, Packet Loss, Route Convergence). Familiarity with network transport protocols and optimization.• Ability to draft structured test methodologies, define measurable GO/NO GO parameters, and execute complex laboratory and field-based risk reduction events.• Proven capability to ingest anomaly data, replicate failures in a lab environment, isolate root causes (firmware, hardware bottlenecks, protocol instabilities), and engineer validated solutions.• Experience capturing, monitoring, and analyzing real-time radio network data utilizing traffic generation and automation scripts.Other Requirements• Strong writing skills for drafting formal test plans, emerging results briefs, detailed test reports, and trouble incident reports.• Excellent communication skills to interact directly with internal product managers, military units, and external radio vendors.• Ability to travel to various Army field test sites and ranges (e.g., Fort Bragg, Fort Belvoir, JBLM) for operational rehearsals and user assessments.
