Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking an RF Packaging Engineer to design and package RF products, and create 3D CAD models and drawings for prototypes.

You will collaborate in a multi‑discipline team, develop prototype hardware, coordinate fabrication, and support integration and testing; design reviews with peers are expected. A STEM degree and 2+ years of related experience are required, with security-clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM required; minimum 2 years of related experience.
  • Experience designing RF product packaging across lifecycle with 3D CAD.
  • Ability to prepare TDPs using GD&T per ASME.
  • Ability to obtain U.S. security clearance prior to start.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate in a multi-discipline team setting to solve complex engineering problems
  • Create 3D CAD models and engineering drawings for RF product designs
  • Develop prototype hardware designs and coordinate fabrication
  • Perform hands‑on integration and test support for prototype hardware
  • Hold design and drawing reviews with peers and subject matter experts
Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Experience performing design and analysis for the packaging of RF products (e.g., circuit card assemblies, antennas, radomes, RF test equipment, harnesses, and interconnects) throughout the product life cycle to include 3D Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) software.
  • Experience with creation of Technical Data Packages (TDPs) using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for products.
  • Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government–issued security clearance prior to start date and the ability to obtain special program access after start.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science (MS) in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering.
  • Experience with 3D CAD design (preferably Creo Parametric).
  • Experience in antenna and/or electronics packaging.
  • Experience with harness and interconnect design.
  • Experience creating engineering drawings.
  • Experience fabricating prototype designs.
  • Familiarity with the application of GD&T.
  • Experience performing tolerance analysis.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a multi‑discipline team.
  • Self‑motivated problem solver with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with coworkers from varied communities and cultures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles.

Salary range: $68,900 – $131,100 USD.
