Job summary

NexGen Tech Solutions in California is seeking an RF engineer to design, prototype, and test RF, analog, and digital subsystems for wireless products.

Responsibilities include providing manufacturing support during development and production, driving agency certification for US and international markets, and delivering sustaining engineering to reduce costs and improve quality.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering.
• RF and digital design experience; RF up to 28 GHz preferred.
• Experience with regulatory certification for wireless devices (FCC, ETSI, IC).
• PCB design knowledge: RF and high-speed digital, impedance control.
• Experience with RF subsystems of Wi‑Fi radios and RF planar structures.

Job description

• Design, develop, prototype and test Radio Frequency (RF), analog, and digital subsystems
• Provide manufacturing support of the product lines during development and production
• Drive agency certification work for both US and international markets for both licensed and unlicensed spectrum products
• Provide sustaining engineering support to debug field issues, improve manufacturability, reduce cost, and improve quality of existing products

Qualification & Experience:

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
• RF and digital design experience. RF experience up to 28 GHz preferred
• Working experience with regulatory requirements and certification process for wireless consumer devices, including FCC, ETSI, IC, etc
• A solid grasp of PCB design including an understanding of:
• RF design techniques and constraints
• Place and route constraints for both RF and high speed digital design
• Clock distribution
• PCB material selection, board stackup design and impedance control
• EMI control and reduction
• Experience with the design and debug of the RF subsystems of Wi-Fi radios (802.11a/b/g/n/ac) including the use of LitePoint equipment (or equivalent) to characterize RF performance is highly desirable
• Expertise to simulate planar RF structures such as filters, splitters, mixers and couplers on PCBs
