Job summary

Northwood Space in Torrance, CA is seeking an enthusiastic RF Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to join our team. You will assist in designing ground stations and support RF efforts to optimize performance, reliability, and manufacturability, gaining hands-on experience with hardware, software, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

As you work with electrical, RF, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers from concept to production, you will build practical skills in antenna design, transmission

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Basic knowledge of transmission line theory and smith chart.
• Experience with Python or another language for data analysis.
• 1+ year experience in antenna, RF, or electrical design, fabrication, and test including lab work and university projects.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of new RF hardware, as well as improvements to existing designs for enhanced performance and reliability
• Assist in the fabrication and characterization of prototypes for antennas, feeds, and active RF circuits
• Work closely with hardware and software engineers to test and troubleshoot integrated RF performance
• Provide technical support to colleagues in regulatory and site operations
