Job summary

CesiumAstro is hiring an RF Engineer II to design, analyze, test, and troubleshoot RF systems for satellites and aerospace platforms. You will work across RF, antenna, mechanical, and systems teams to ensure mission-ready performance.

You will contribute to design reviews and documentation, perform RF verification, and help drive continuous improvement in RF methods and processes. A strong hands-on lab and collaboration mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 2+ years in RF electronics design, analysis, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with CST/ADS and Altium.
• Lab skills with vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

• Assist with the design and development of RF circuits, transceivers, receivers, transmitters, amplifiers, filters, and microwave components.
• Perform RF analyses, circuit simulations, link budget calculations, impedance matching, frequency planning, and performance evaluations.

We are looking to add an RF Engineer IIto our team. The ideal candidate has experience inboard-level RF electronics design. In this position, you willassist with the design, analysis, development, integration, and testing of radio frequency (RF) systems supporting products and platforms. This role contributes to product development by performing RF analyses, evaluating system performance, and resolving routine RF engineering challenges to ensure products satisfy RF performance, reliability, quality, and mission requirements.

Working cross-functionally with RF, antenna, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and systems engineering teams, this role supports RF engineering activities from concept development through product qualification.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with the design and development of RF circuits, transceivers, receivers, transmitters, amplifiers, filters, and microwave components.
• Perform RF analyses, circuit simulations, link budget calculations, impedance matching, frequency planning, and performance evaluations.
• Review engineering requirements, RF specifications, simulation results, and technical documentation supporting RF design readiness.
• Perform RF verification, qualification, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
• Analyze RF measurements, simulation data, laboratory results, and engineering observations to identify trends and recommend solutions.
• Support root cause investigations, engineering changes, corrective actions, and RF performance improvements.
• Collaborate with RF, antenna, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and systems engineering teams supporting RF product development.
• Develop engineering reports, simulation documentation, RF measurement reports, and engineering change documentation.
• Participate in design reviews, engineering investigations, product integration, and qualification activities.
• Review RF engineering methods, simulation practices, and development processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Apply RF engineering methodologies, industry standards, company procedures, and customer requirements throughout product development.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance RF performance, engineering efficiency, reliability, and quality.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• A Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) from an accredited university or institution.
• 2+ years of industry experience in design and analysis of RF electronics design, analysis, test, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with professional simulation tools such as CST and ADS, as well as EDA tools such Altium.
• Hands-on experience with lab instruments such as vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Experience with MATLAB or other programming languages.
• Experience in aerospace electronics design, development, and qualification.
• Knowledge of worst-case circuit analysis, failure method and criticality analyses, and reliability analysis.
• Experience with antenna design.
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC design and mitigation techniques.
