Job summary

Redwire Space in Longmont, CO seeks an RF Engineer I to join the RF Systems group. You will build and correlate RF models, perform trade studies, and develop software tools to automate analyses. This entry‑level role trains under senior engineers to design RF components and systems for space and multi‑domain missions.

You will work with HFSS/ADS, PCB layouts, scripting in Python or MATLAB, and support lab tests and flight builds, while meeting ITAR and program requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or physics with RF design focus.
• 0–2 years of RF/hardware experience; internships/co-ops acceptable.
• Hands-on RF simulation and 3D electromagnetic modeling experience.
• Familiarity with S-parameters, impedance matching, transmission lines, gain/noise figure, and stability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and correlate RF simulation models of components and end-to-end systems.
• Review data sheets and perform trade studies to optimize RF architecture for gain, noise, and linearity.
• Build 3D electromagnetic models of RF devices in HFSS for cavity and enclosure analysis.
• Capture schematics and layout RF PCBs with high-frequency design practices.
• Develop scripts to automate simulation setup, data reduction, and reporting.
• Ensure designs meet operational frequency range, SNR, linearity, and stability requirements.
• Support RF characterization in lab and flight build, and correlate results to simulations.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineers to optimize designs for technical, cost, and schedule constraints.
• Maintain system documentation: CAD drawings, BOMs, analyses, test procedures.
• Contribute simulation results and data to PDR/CDR reviews.
