  • Produce detailed RF design documentation, including system schematics, propagation models, and performance forecasts

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and experienced RF Design Engineer to provide end-to-end design, analysis, optimization, and validation of advanced wireless communication systems, with a focus on 4G LTE and 5G architectures. This role combines RF engineering expertise, in-building and outdoor system design, and field validation to support high-performance network deployments for enterprise and carrier environments.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with RF design tools, test equipment, and system level understanding of 5G networks, including EPC core integration and real-world validation through CW and drive testing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Design and develop RF solutions for 4G LTE and 5G networks, including macro, small cell, and in-building (DAS) systems
  • Perform RF link budget analysis to ensure system performance meets coverage and capacity requirements
  • Develop and validate RF system architectures aligned with 5G NR standards and deployment scenarios
  • Produce detailed RF design documentation, including system schematics, propagation models, and performance forecasts
In-Building & Coverage Design
  • Utilize IBwave, Atoll, or Eino for in-building wireless design, modeling, and optimization
  • Perform heat mapping and RF propagation analysis for coverage planning and design validation
  • Conduct predictive modeling and post-deployment optimization for signal strength, interference, and capacity
Testing & Validation
  • Execute CW (Continuous Wave) testing and validation to confirm RF design performance
  • Perform blind scan testing to identify signal profiles and validate frequency usage
  • RF power meters
  • RF signal generators
  • Conduct field measurements and troubleshooting to optimize RF performance
Network Integration & Core Systems
  • Support integration and configuration of 5G EPC (Evolved Packet Core) elements
  • Support integration and configuration of 5G BBU/RAN system elements
  • Analyze and validate system performance across RAN and core network interfaces
  • Collaborate with network engineering and operations teams to ensure seamless deployment and handoff performance
Drive Testing & Data Analysis
  • Perform and analyze RF data using tools IBwave, Atoll, or Eino
  • Conduct drive testing and post-processing to evaluate coverage, throughput, latency, and interference
  • Generate reports and recommendations for network optimization and performance improvement
Troubleshooting & Optimization
  • Diagnose RF performance issues including interference, signal degradation, and coverage gaps
  • Recommend corrective actions and optimization strategies to improve system reliability and quality
  • Support ongoing network tuning and performance improvement initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in RF engineering, preferably in wireless telecom environments
  • Hands-on experience designing and optimizing 4G LTE and 5G networks
  • IT and Telecommunications certifications are desired.
  • Understanding of networking concepts and electrical wiring principles.
  • Proven experience with telecommunications network gear and connectivity.
  • Ability to work independently in diverse environments and travel as needed.
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
  • Strong proficiency in RF engineering principles, including propagation, interference, and link budget analysis
  • Experience with IBwave and/or Eino for RF design and in-building system planning
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • o Viavi CellAdvisor and/or OneAdvisor
  • o RF power meters and signal
  • Ability to create training material and provide training to customers, clients, and internal employees.
  • Ability to create documentation – Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Method of Procedure (MOP), Policy Guidelines, and other documentation as required.

  • Collaboration : Ability to work well within a team environment, collaborating with project teams, customer representatives, and technical support personnel to ensure smooth installation processes and project success.
  • Adaptability : Flexibility to work in diverse environments, including government facilities, and willingness to travel frequently to customer sites. Adaptability to changing project requirements and ability to prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Safety Awareness : Strong understanding and adherence to safety protocols, industry regulations, and company policies to maintain a safe working environment during maintenance or installation activities. Awareness of occupational hazards and proactive in taking necessary precautions.
  • Documentation Skills : Proficiency in documenting maintenance and installation activities, including configurations, test results, modifications, and maintaining accurate records of equipment inventory, installation logs, and service reports.
  • Continuous Learning: Demonstrated eagerness to stay updated with industry advancements, new technologies, product knowledge, and installation techniques through self-learning and professional development opportunities.
