Job summary

GT-BIM, LLC in Los Angeles seeks a Computational Design & Automation Consultant to translate architectural and BIM challenges into scripts, applications, and data workflows. Revit automation is central, with emphasis on maintainable tools and measurable project benefits.

You will build workflows, validate outputs, and deploy integrations across design, databases, and cloud platforms, collaborating with architects and BIM leaders on active projects.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of professional experience in computational design, BIM automation, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of Revit and BIM project delivery in an AEC environment.
• Experience developing Revit automation with Revit API, Dynamo, or pyRevit.
• Proficiency in C#/.NET or Python; experience in another scripting environment is a plus.
• Ability to translate design needs into technical requirements and maintainable releases.
• Understanding of software fundamentals, data structures, modular design, debugging, and source control.
• Clear communication with technical and nontechnical colleagues.
• Bachelor-level or higher with relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
• Portfolio showing automation tools, scripts, or computational workflows.

Responsibilities

• Identify, define, and prioritize opportunities for computational workflows and automation.
• Develop, test, deploy, and maintain Revit scripts and add-ins using C#/.NET, Python, Dynamo, or pyRevit.
• Automate modeling, documentation, family creation, scheduling, data extraction, QA/QC, reporting, and information-exchange tasks.
• Build workflows that preserve design intent and produce repeatable results.
• Develop integrations between Revit and design, coordination, analysis, databases, web, and cloud platforms.
• Work with Revit API: geometry, parameters, relationships, transactions, events, and project data.
• Convert prototypes into maintainable tools with clear interfaces, error handling, and documentation.
• Validate automated outputs against real project conditions and establish human review.
