We’re looking for a Revenue Tax Auditor Supervisor to join our Field Audit Sales Tax Division!

Qualifications:

• Seven years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing;
• Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus four years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing;
• A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus four years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing;
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics plus four years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing;
• An advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics, or a Juris Doctorate, plus three years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing;
• Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or a current Louisiana license to practice law plus two years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties:

• Serve as the assistant to the Revenue Tax Auditor Manager, Revenue Tax Assistant Director or Revenue Tax Director over a team of auditors in a defined geographical area.
• Will be responsible for the supervision of a staff of Revenue Tax Auditors located within the state of Louisiana as well as other locations throughout the United States.
• Accompanies Revenue Tax Auditors on pre-audit and post-audit interviews with taxpayers and their accountants, chemists, information technology personnel and legal counsel to discuss audit procedures, explain the results of audits and the treatment of various tax issues.
• Assigns case inventory and provides assistance in determining the appropriate course of action for audits.
• The position also plans the workload, workflow, deadlines, work objectives and time management priorities.
• The Revenue Tax Auditor Supervisor also monitors Revenue Tax Auditor performance standards and measures and conducts performance evaluations.

• Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, Job Appointment, Detail to Special Duty or WAE
• Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Revenue Tax Auditor Supervisor.
• Compensation: This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) of $27.86 hourly, $2,228.80 biweekly. The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
• Work Location: This position will be domiciled in Baton Rouge (East Baton Rouge Parish).
